introducing: first world problems, the webcomic
I’m opening up my graphic memoir and extending it with new chapters - under a new title, First World Problems. Follow along for free on Webtoon and through my newsletter.
"You can't make this stuff up" is something I've thought everyday of the past few months.
"So you should write about it", said a little voice.
I thought I was done with that. Last year I published a short graphic memoir on my family's annual trip to the US and all the overwhelm and culture shock that comes with it, especially in an election year.
I wrote and drew my guts out and closed that chapter and was on to a new book. But then the election happened. And a whole lot more.
So I did what I never thought I would do - I broke open the story.
I will continue it with one episode per month. Because frankly, there is just too much material, and cartooning is cheaper than therapy.
It needed a new title, as Coming To America 2024 was dated before it even hit the stores.
So I'm calling it First World Problems.
If you already read Coming To America 2024: take a refresh from chapter 8 where I’ve made minor changes to help the story move forward into this new phase, and a fresh new chapter 11 is available now.
First World Problems is now published as a webcomic, to be released bi-weekly on Webtoon.
HOW TO FOLLOW THE STORY
The story is posted to Webtoon where you can read it for free. New episodes will be published bi-weekly or monthly. For those who have never used Webtoon before - note that the story has multiple episodes that you can scroll through.
If you're a WEBTOON fan and you have the app - subscribe to get a nod when a new episode is released.
If you want to get a nod directly from me, just sign up for my newsletter on my site.
I am probably the last person to arrive on Instagram before the lights go out (note my sad 91 followers), but I will post updates there when there's a new episode. It's also where I share more cartoon material.
