Arabic logotype for Desigual, developed at OrientationLab, 2009
Spanish retail brand Desigual approached OrientationLab after a presentation at the European Design Conference. Colleague Reza Abedini had given a lecture on the problems surrounding the translation of western to eastern typefaces, and the Desigual brand manager in the crowd just happened to be facing the same problem for the new stores they were opening in the Middle East. The new logotype is designed by Reza Abedini. It will be visible in stores across the region (egypt, Qatar, Kuweit, Libanon, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emerates) from 2011 onwards.
